What you need
- 2 cups round cereal O's (covered wagon wheels)
- 1 cup pretzel sticks (wooden tools and handcart handles)
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds (seeds of faith planted in the valley)
- 1/2 cup peanuts, shelled (strength to keep walking — skip if allergic)
- 1/2 cup raisins (the dark, hard nights faith carried them through)
- 1/2 cup M&M's (the colorful patchwork of Saints)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (the stars that lit the night sky)
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (the snow of the Rocky Mountains)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (little sweet blessings along the way)
- 2 cups popped popcorn (the warm campfires at day's end)
How to make it
- 1Wash your hands and clear a big workspace.
- 2Pour the cereal O's into a large bowl and say: 'These are the covered wagon wheels.'
- 3Add the pretzel sticks: 'The wooden tools and handcart handles.'
- 4Sprinkle in the sunflower seeds: 'Seeds of faith planted in the Salt Lake Valley.'
- 5Toss in the peanuts: 'Strength to keep walking.' (If anyone has a nut allergy, leave these out and add extra sunflower seeds or popcorn.)
- 6Add the raisins: 'The dark, hard nights faith carried them through.'
- 7Pour in the M&M's: 'The colorful patchwork of Saints.'
- 8Sprinkle the white chocolate chips: 'The stars that lit the night sky.'
- 9Add the mini marshmallows: 'The snow of the Rocky Mountains.'
- 10Toss in the chocolate chips: 'Little sweet blessings along the way.'
- 11Gently fold in the popcorn: 'The warm campfires at day's end.'
- 12Stir everything together, then scoop into small bags or cups for family night.
