Kid job

Kids can unwrap the kisses, flatten the dough, and wrap each kiss like a little present. A grown-up handles the hot oven.

What you need

  • 1 package (24 count) frozen or refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 24 Hershey's Kisses milk chocolates
  • A little flour for your hands (so the dough does not stick!)

How to make it

  1. 1Ask a grown-up to heat the oven to the temperature on the cookie dough package.
  2. 2Unwrap all the Hershey kisses and place them in a small bowl. Try not to eat them — they are the surprise inside!
  3. 3If the dough is frozen, let it sit for about 5 minutes so it is soft enough to squish.
  4. 4Wash your hands, then lightly dust them with flour. Take one piece of cookie dough and flatten it in your palm like a tiny pancake.
  5. 5Place one Hershey kiss in the middle of the dough. Fold the dough up and around the kiss, then roll it into a ball so the kiss is completely hidden.
  6. 6Place the cookie balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving a little space between each one.
  7. 7Ask a grown-up to bake the cookies for the time on the package, usually 10–14 minutes, until the edges are golden and the tops look set.
  8. 8Let the cookies cool for a few minutes. Then take a bite and discover the melty chocolate kiss treasure inside!

Grown-ups: please help with the oven, the stove, and anything sharp.
